Tabletop Typography

Digital distribution is the wave of the future for magazines and other print publications. The Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (DPS) tools are included with InDesign and can help you create rich interactive publications for mobile devices.

I designed and produced a digital publication that examines typography as form, meaning, and information within the context of cultural application. The digital publication is titled The Use of Sans Serif Typeface in Niche Paper-Based Games, a area of typographic execution that consistently employs a particular typeface, family, or typographic characteristics (i.e., geometric square sans serif typefaces are the predominant type used by automobile manufacturers to identify a model of car).

You can view the tabletop typography process book for details about the process and the final digital publication.

To learn this skillset I took the Lynda.Com Adobe Digital Publishing Suite Essential Training with Bob Levine training. I would highly suggest the training, and Bob Levine shows you how to create DPS folios in InDesign with striking cover artwork and various interactive features like buttons, audio and video, HTML content, links to outside sources, and even animation.
